John Davis was your typical post-finasteride syndrome (PFS) case. He lost his job, lost his wife and went into severe depression, all due to his PFS symptoms. John tells us how he has relieved many of his symptoms through trial and error. We'll discuss what he did, and what you can do, to help alleviate some of the symptoms of PFS. *PLEASE NOTE: The guest nor the host are medical professionals. Any methods or advice given by us is not medical advice. Please consult your Doctor or medical professional for any medical advice or assistance. Post-finasteride syndrome is a devastating condition that afflicts men who’ve taken finasteride for hair loss (under the Propecia brand) or enlarged prostate (Proscar). Persistent symptoms include loss of libido, erectile dysfunction, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, panic attacks, Peyronie’s disease, penile shrinkage, gynecomastia, muscle atrophy, cognitive impairment, insomnia, severely dry skin, and tinnitus. Many victims suffer economic hardship due to job loss, and emotional distress due to the breakup of marriages and romantic relationships. PFS has also been linked to suicides. No one knows how many men are living with PFS, but experts estimate there are hundreds of thousands of cases worldwide. While there’s currently no cure for PFS, clinical research offers hope that effective treatments will be developed in the coming years. Until then, “PFS Global Support,” co-hosted by Amir Karkouti (in the U.S.) and Ben King (in Europe), is here to provide a weekly gathering place where victims and their loved ones can share information and offer mutual support.
